29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by: (a)265 Turner Drive, Durango, CO 81303; on or before July 07, 2023, and at times prior, Employees were exposed to inadequate machine guarding on a chocolate processing machine in that the employees would sometimes open the access port where chocolate that was clogging the machine could be pushed out. The access port was located on the side of the machine behind a shut valve gate. The employees could open valve gate and insert fingers without the machine shutting off or down. Employees were exposed to rotating paddle that stirs the chocolate to prevent cooling and solidifying that would then clog the machine process.
