Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
1910.9(b) Standards in this part requiring training on hazards and related matters, such as standards requiring that employees receive training or that the employer train employees, provide training to employees, or institute or implement a training program, impose a separate compliance duty with respect to each employee covered by the requirement. On or about July 18, 2023, and at times thereafter, Martin-Brower's warehouse selection workers were required to perform repetitive manual material handling lifting tasks, involving forceful exertions and awkward postures, during Dry Goods Selection tasks, Frozen Selection tasks, and Cooler Selection tasks. A review of Martin-Brower?s ergonomic program determined that warehouse selection employees had not been trained on the principles of the employer?s Ergonomics Program, general risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders, effective engineering and administrative controls, common signs and symptoms associated with musculoskeletal disorders, and the importance of early reporting of musculoskeletal disorders signs and symptoms associated with MSDs.
