29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about July 13, 2023, the employer did not ensure that the #3 Amada Pega CNC Turret Punch was guarded to protect employees from caught-on and in-between hazards. The guard designed to cover the rotating tooling was missing, and the limit switch that detects if the guard is in place was bypassed with a piece of metal. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d)
