29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1):Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. a) Henry Gurtzweiler Inc. On or about July 6, 2023 at the address of Quarry Rd/Insley Rd. North Baltimore OH 45872: The employer did not ensure employees performing steel erection activities atop a commercial structure were adequately protected from fall hazards. Employees installing insulation and metal decking atop the structure in this condition were exposed to falls of approximately 36 ft. to the ground below. Henry Gurtzweiler Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1558075, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 9, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 25925 Commerce Dr. Defiance, OH.
