OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to excessive heat while working outdoors. a) 51 Kent Farm Lane, West Grove, PA 19390 worksite - On or about July 5, 2023, employees performing landscaping duties outdoors were exposed to the hazard of high heat from direct sun during the performance of their landscaping job duties. Employees worked for approximately 6 hours in temperatures up to 90�F and a heat index that reached 94�F, with a wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT) as high as 94�F. Such exposures are likely to lead to the development of serious heat-related illnesses such as, but not limited to heat cramps, heat stress, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. . An employee assigned to conduct weed trimming and leaf blowing activities was exposed to these conditions and suffered a heat related illness.
