Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer shall provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees. The training shall include the following: (B):Each affected employee shall be instructed in the purpose and use of the energy control procedure. a) On or about 6/9/2023, the employer did not provide adequate training as an affected employee on the purpose and use of Zwanenberg's energy control procedures for employees including employees becoming a Kitchen Associate. Employee #1 tasks includes operating equipment such as, but not limited to the Wolf-King 250 Grinder located in room 24. Employee #1 is exposed to the potential for caught-in hazards associated with the discharge port of the Wolf-King 250 Grinder. b) On or about 6/23/2023, the employer does not provide adequate training as an affected employee on the purpose and use of Zwanenberg's energy control procedures for employees including becoming a Kitchen Associate. Employee #2, changed duties to where the tasks includes operating equipment such as, but not limited to the Wolf-King 250 Grinder located in room 23. Employer #2 is exposed to the potential for caught-in hazards associated with the discharge port of the Wolf- King 250 Grinder. The Zwanenberg Food Group (USA) Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1239986, citation number 01, item number 003 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/17/2018, with respect to a workplace located at 3640 Muddy Creek Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45238.
