Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.100(a):Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. On or about June 21, 2023 the employer failed to ensure employees working in the active excavation were protected from struck-by injuries. The employer did not ensure employees were utilizing a hard hat to protect from head injuries. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
