29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1):The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying objects while using a nail gun. The employer does not require the use of eye protection during roofing work. This violation was most recently observed on June 12, 2023, at 15 Brewster Drive, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278, where employees were exposed to being struck by a nail in the event of a malfunction. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that its employees performing roofing work are protected from struck by hazards, and that no employee is allowed to operate an air powered nail gun without protective safety glasses.
