Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: (a) On or about May 16, 2023, employees were exposed to cave-in hazards while working in a trench in excess of 5 feet in depth where there was no protective systems provided. RMS Utilities , Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1416915, Citation Number 2, Item Number 1a, and was affirmed as a final order on November 6, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at the intersection of Hwy 24 and Rampart Terrace Rd., Cascade, CO.
