29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1):The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: In the production floor, employees were not wearing safety glasses /or appropriate eye protection and were exposed to impact hazards (flying metal particles) in the following areas: 1) May 10, 2023, operating the Makino (CNC Vertical Machine Center Model # PS95 / Serial # V130537) an employee was observed wearing prescription eyewear without side shields and not American National Standards Institute (ANSI-87) rated safety eyewear. 2) May 10, 2023, operating the Knuth (Engine Lathe Model # Turnado / Serial # 2713) an employee was observed wearing prescription eyewear without side shields and not American National Standards Institute (ANSI-87) rated safety eyewear. 3) May 10, 2023, the Manufacturing Superintendent / Engineer, was observed wearing prescription eyewear without side shields and not American National Standards Institute (ANSI-87) rated safety eyewear. 4) May 10, 2023, the Manufacturing Supervisor / Machinist, was observed wearing prescription eyewear without side shields and not American National Standards Institute (ANSI-87) rated safety eyewear. 5) May 10, 2023, the Marketing & Engineering Supervisor, was observed wearing prescription eyewear without side shields and not American National Standards Institute (ANSI-87) rated safety eyewear.
