29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1):Employees did not use eye or face protection equipment when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: The employer does not require the use of any form of eye/face protection during roofing work. This violation was most recently observed on or about April 19, 2023 at 6461 and 6469 Pine Bluff Ave NE, Canton Ohio 44721, where eight employees were not protected from struck by/flying debris hazards while installing roofing material with air driven/power driven nail guns. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that its employees performing roofing work are protected from struck by/flying debris, and that no employee is allowed to install/utilize roofing material while utilizing air driven/power driven nail guns without adequate eye/face protection.
