29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative: The employer failed to develop and implement a written energy control program for employees engaged in maintenance, machine set-up, break down, and sanitation activities. Maintenance and servicing activities covered under this section were conducted on equipment such as but not limited to the "flaker", block grinder, "meat silos", and mixers in the production room. a) On or about March 31, 2023, and times prior, the employer failed to develop a written energy control program for employees engaged in maintenance, machine set-up, break down, and sanitation activities on the Weiler meat grinder in the production room. b) On or about March 31, 2023, and times prior, the employer failed to develop a written energy control program for employees engaged in maintenance, machine set-up, break down, and sanitation activities on the Food Processing Equipment Co.'s meat silos in the production room. c) On or about March 31, 2023, and times prior, the employer failed to develop a written energy control program for employees engaged in maintenance, machine set-up, break down, and sanitation activities on the Reiser RotoClaw Flaker in the production room. d) On or about May 10, 2023, and times prior, the employer failed to develop a written energy control program for employees engaged in maintenance, machine set-up, break down, and sanitation activities on the Food Processing Equipment Co.'s mixers in the production room.
