29 CFR 1910.1024(c)(1):The employer did not ensure that no employee was exposed to an airborne concentration of beryllium in excess of 0.2 g/m3 calculated as an 8-hour TWA: Location: foundry and grinding room a) On or about 5/11/2023, an employee conducting handheld grinding and parts fabrication on beryllium aerospace components was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) of 16 ug/m3 approximately 79 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.2 ug/m3. The exposure level was calculated from a sample collected over a 435-minute sampling period with zero exposure assumed for the unsampled period. b) On or about 5/11/2023, an employee conducting handheld grinding and parts fabrication on beryllium aerospace components was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) of 4.344 ug/m3 approximately 21.72 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.2 ug/m3. The exposure level was calculated from a sample collected over a 170-minute sampling period with zero exposure assumed for the unsampled period. c) On or about 6/8/2023, an employee conducting handheld grinding operations and parts fabrication on beryllium aerospace components was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) of 15 ug/m3 approximately 75.3 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.2 ug/m3. The exposure level was calculated from a sample collected over a 333-minute sampling period with zero exposure assumed for the unsampled period. d) On or about 6/8/2023, an employee conducting handheld grinding operation and parts fabrication on beryllium aerospace components was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) of 65 ug/m3 approximately 326.889 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.2 ug/m3. The exposure level was calculated from a sample collected over a 317-minute sampling period with zero exposure assumed for the unsampled period. e) On or about 6/8/2023, an employee conducting handheld grinding operations and parts fabrication on beryllium aerospace components was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) of 150 ug/m3 approximately 734.488 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.2 ug/m3. The exposure level was calculated from a sample collected over a 316-minute sampling period with zero exposure assumed for the unsampled period
