OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees are exposed to crushing hazards created from the drifting of the Precision Forge 1500 ton press. On or about March 29, 2023, located in the Precision Forge Department, employees were required to manually insert a safety bar into a 1,500 ton Precision Forge while the press was under slide drift inertia. The employer did not prevent movement of the upper die while attempting to secure the press which exposed the employees to struck-by and/or caught-between hazards.
