29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2):Exit access were not at least 28 inches (71.1 cm) wide at all points. Location : Receiving area by extendo number 5 On or about March 23rd, 2023, employees were exposed to burns and smoke inhalation hazards related to delayed emergency evacuation of the building while working where the exit access was reduced to less than 28 inches due to welded shelf and electrical cabinet protruding from the conveyor belt: Instance 1: Rear loading dock area by extendo number five. Approximately 24 inches between electrical panel and door jam. Less than 23 inches between the welded shelf below the electrical panel and the door jam. The United Parcel Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1399036 , citation number 2, item number1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 6, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 475 Edgartown Road, Vineyard Haven MA 02568.
