29 CFR 1910.1200(b)(4)(iii): In work operations where employees only handle chemicals in sealed containers which are not opened under normal conditions of use, the employer did not ensure that employees were provided with information and training in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1200(h) to the extent necessary to protect them in the event of a spill or leak of a hazardous chemical from a sealed container: (a) Warehouse - On or about February 7, 2023, the employer did not effectively train employees to recognize GHS chemical label elements for Covestro Desmodur 15, a 1,5-naphthalene diisocyanate, thereby exposing them to severe respiratory irritation and sensitization hazards during a spill incident. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
