Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards caused by the kickback motion of a saw: a. On or about February 1, 2023, at the pre-fabrication shop; the employer did not ensure that employees, cutting notches from wood trusses with a handheld DeWalt 7-1/4" Worm Drive Circular Saw (Model: DWS535B (120V and 4800/min (RPM)), secured the work piece to a stable surface in order to allow a firm grip with both hands on the saw and away from the cutting area.
