29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i)(A):The employer did not ensure that each employee with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by a standard guardrail system: a) On or about 1/31/23, at the JFK International Airport Terminal 5 Gate 25, Jamaica, NY Employees walking out of the unprotected cargo compartment door were exposed the hazard of falling approximately 6 feet to the concrete ground. SERIOUS VIOLATION: JetBlue Airways Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard or its equivalent 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i)(A) which was contained in OSHA Inspection No. 1569885, Citation #1, Item #1, issued on 05/27/2022 and was affirmed as a Final Order on 06/23/2022, with respect to a workplace located at the same location, JFK Airport Terminal 5.
