29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): The employer does not ensure that each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels are protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, or provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b) Location: 20 Roach Street in Quincy, Massachusetts Employees performing roofing work are not protected from fall hazards by the use of a fall protection system. The employer fails to assure effective protections against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on December 8th 2022, when employees were working on the roof of a residential structure where employees were not using adequate means of fall protection. Instance #1 - from a height of approximately 18 feet, from the roofline of the home to the ground below, where personal fall arrest systems was not in use.
