29 CFR 1910.22(d): Inspection, maintenance, and repair. The employer must ensure: 29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1): Walking-working surfaces are inspected, regularly and as necessary, and maintained in a safe condition; a. On or about November 28, 2022 and at times prior the employer did not inspect and ensure that the grated stairway used by employees to access the catwalk was maintained in a safe condition. The sixth stair tread of the grated stairway had a damaged three inch wide opening that created a trip hazard to employees using the stairway.
