Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: (a) On November 2, 2022, at or near, GO-RON VIALL- 156-98-2513H in Epping, North Dakota, an employee working on moving an oil rig, was fatally injured after being struck by a Kenworth Twin-Steer C500 Gin Pole Truck. Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct the hazard would be for the employer to: Develop and implement comprehensive site-specific traffic control plans that address struck-by hazards for personnel on the ground by all vehicles and equipment operating within the work site. The plan shall include an employee training program for all supervisors, drivers, and ground crew members.
