29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling: On or around October 25, 2022, and at times prior thereto, in the facility's Fine Jewelry Repair Shop, employees were exposed to electrical hazards due to the misuse of relocatable power taps in the following: (a) In the jewelry area at workstation: The first power tap powered a second power tap (daisy-chained), two (2) pedal assemblies, and one (1) other device; (b) In the jewelry area at workstation: The first power tap powered two (2) pedal assemblies, a second power strip (daisy-chained), and one (1) other device. The second power tap powered a fan and one (1) other device; (c) In the jewelry area at workstation: The first power tap powered a second power strip (daisy-chained), and one (1) other device. The second power tap powered two (2) devices; (d) At the Polishing Lead's desk: The first power tap powered a second power strip (daisy-chained), computer, barcode scanner, and monitor. the second power tap powered a laser printer and cellphone charger; (e) At a workstation in use: The first power tap powered a second power strip (daisy-chained), light, and rotary tool. The second power tap powered a personal fan, microscope, and cell phone charger; (f) At a workstation in use: The first power tap powered a three (3) outlet extension cord, rotary tool, two(2) pedal assemblies, and a light. The three (3) outlet extension cord powered a personal fan, warming pot, and one (1) other device; (g) Relocatable power tap mounted to the back half-wall of workbench cubicle, powering five (5) devices; (h) Relocatable power tap mounted on the back side of workbench, powering two (2) devices; (i) Relocatable power tap mounted to copper water piping under jewelry electro-plating workstation, powering one (1) device; and (j) Relocatable power tap mounted to back half-wall of workbench cubicle, powering four (4) devices and a separate three (3) outlet extension cord powering three (3) devices, powering seven (7) devices in total. The JCPenney Alliance Center Logistics Center was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1515898, citation number 1, item number 3, issued on April 8, 2021, and was affirmed as a final order on May 5, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 1701 Intermodal Parkway, Haslet, TX 76052.
