29 CFR 1926.651(i)(3):Sidewalks, pavements, or appurtenant structures had been undermined and a support system or another method was not provided to protect employees from the possible collapse of such structures: The employer is failing to protect employees from hazards associated with the undermining of pavement immediately adjacent to an excavation. This was most recently documented on or about September 15, 2022, at a worksite located on the southeast corner of Pershing Street and Main Street in Kansas City, MO. Employees engaged in inlet installation activities, inside of an excavation were exposed to hazards associated with collapsing pavement in that an adequate support system or other method was not provided to prevent the pavement from collapsing.
