29 CFR 1910.178(l)(2)(ii): Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive computer learning, video tape, written material), practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee), and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace. (a) On or about August 15, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the operator training consisted of a combination of formal instruction, practical training and evaluation as required. Employees operating the Yale, Model #M5W04054N24TV087, Raymond, Model #RTW30 and Jungheinrich, Model #EJE120 powered industrial vehicles were not provided practical training, and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
