29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers are not mounted, located and identified so that they are readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: a) The employer does not ensure that portable fire extinguishers are readily accessible without subjecting the employees to possible injury. This most recently occurred on and preceding August 12, 2022, at 3631 Sullivant Avenue Columbus, OH 43228. Boxes, bins, cleaning supplies and stacked merchandise are in front of two fire extinguishers in the storeroom obstructing access, which exposes employees to fire hazards. Family Dollar Stores Inc. was previously cited under the name Family Dollar Stores of Texas, LLC for a Repeat-Serious violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1581314, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on August 1, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 2323 FM 1960 West, HOUSTON, TX 77068.
