Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer is failing to protect employees from amputation hazards. On or about July 20, 2022 @ 9:50pm at 701 N. Lincoln Str. Spring Hill, Kansas, an employee engaged in Metal Fabrication activities in the fabrications department at Seats Inc. Tube Bender 3805/CNC 50 TDRE-L was exposed to amputation hazards in that the guards were not affixed to the machine. The Seats Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1) and and (29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1561191, citation number 1, item number 1, and citation number 1, item number 2 was affirmed as a final order on 2/28/2022, with respect to a workplace located at_701 North Lincoln Str. Spring Hill, KS 66083.
