29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees were not provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: The employer does not protect each employee from struck by hazards while performing roofing activities on a residential home by providing eye and face protection while the employees are using air powered nail guns. a) This most recently occurred on June 9, 2022 while performing roofing activities on a residential home located at 4485 Edge view Trail, Brunswick, Ohio 44212. Employees are exposed to the hazard of being struck by flying objects, while using air powered nail guns without wearing protective safety glasses. To abate the hazard in the future, the employer must ensure that its employees are protected from the hazard of being struck by while performing roofing activities using the air powered nail guns. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19 the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance, including an explanation of how these steps protect its employees from fall hazards.
