29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Thermal Forming Department, Thermal Forming Machine 3- On or about May 9, 2022, the employer did not ensure that all moving parts were completely guarded in a manner that would prevent employees from having any part of their body in the danger zone during operation or inadvertently coming in contact with moving parts. The top portion of the sliding guard for the elevator conveyor on Thermal Forming Machine 3 was not in place. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
