Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that caused or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm in the coil zones of Blast Freezer A when spraying off the coils inside Blast Freezer A?s coil zones: On April 30, 2022, at the beginning of his work shift, an employee went into a coil zone of Blast Freezer A. While the employer had a written safe-working procedures in place for the cleaning of coil zones in Blast Freezer A, which prohibited employees from entering the coil zone and required the use of an air wand, the existing safe work procedure did not physically restrain employee entry into the coil zones of Blast Freezer A.
