Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1) The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees from high voltage overhead powerlines: a) On April 25, 2022; pole anchor guy lines were not installed with guy insulators positioned below where the guy line could become energized by contact with 7.2kv overhead lines. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement may include compliance with 2017 (or later) National Electrical Safety Code(R) (NESC(R)), IEEE C2-2017, Section 215. Anchor guys shall be effectively grounded, except where guy insulators are installed and positioned to limit the likelihood of any portion of an anchor guy becoming energized within 2.45 m (8 ft) of the ground level in the event that the anchor guy becomes, slack, breaks or otherwise contacts energized lines.
