Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.106(e)(6)(i):Adequate precautions were not taken to prevent the ignition of flammable vapors: a) International Waxes, Inc., Laboratory area, on or about March 31st, 2022 and times prior thereto: Employees were potentially exposed to a fire hazard while performing quality control tests on waxes with chemicals including, but not limited to, naphtha, toluene, and MEK. Flammable vapors produced during quality control tests were in the area of the "hot machine" or electric heating element during testing operations. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
