29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):"Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. On or about March 8, 2022, employees engaged in roofing installation operations on a residential single-family property were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 9.8' when the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized. The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1555411, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on February 28, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1475 N. Lake St., Grayslake, Illinois 60030. The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1535755, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 12, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 165 Red Cedar Dr., Streamwood, Illinois 60107. The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1409510, citation number 2, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on November 19, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 3712 Celeste Ln, Naperville, Illinois 60564. The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1302488, citation number 1, item number 5b and was affirmed as a final order on April 18, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at546 Marion St., Oak Park, Illinois 60302.
