Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): a.) JN Pallet Company, LLC; splitter saw conveyor line - On or about 1/5/22, and at time prior thereto, guarding was not in place to prevent employees from accessing the area on the conveyor where the hydraulic pusher arm activates after the cycle-switch is contacted. An employee reaching onto the conveyor accidentally activated the hydraulic pusher arm by contacting the cycle-switch and was injured when his hand was caught between the arm and the roll case. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
