29 CFR 1910.23(b)(9): The employer did not ensure that ladders are inspected before initial use in each work shift, and more frequently as necessary, to identify any visible defects that could cause employee injury. On or about November 23, 2021 the employer Pittsburgh Glassworks LLC located at 5066 Lincoln Highway Crestline OH 44827 within the line one hot end, did not ensure ladders were inspected before initial use in each work shift, and more frequently as necessary, to identify any visible defects that could cause employee injury. Proper ladder inspection before initial use helps support the employer and employees in identifying and avoiding potential hazards such as falls, decreasing the probability of employee injury.
