1928.57(a)(6) Operating instructions. At the time of initial assignment and at least annually thereafter, the employer shall instruct every employee in the safe operation and servicing of all covered equipment with which he is or will be involved, including at least the following safe operating practices: 29 CFR 1928.57(a)(6)(v):Lock out electrical power before performing maintenance or service on farmstead equipment. a. On or about November 13, 2021, the employer's operating instructions did not fully document that when performing sanitation on the Magnum Systems Airlock Feeder Machine the augur must be locked out when the cover plate is required to be removed or replaced to perform sanitation on the augur.
