29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a. National Electrical Carbon Products, Inc. - Fostoria, Ohio: On or about November 6, 2022, the employer failed to ensure that the S-Winder associated with the slot furnace located in building 72 was guarded to protect employees from rotating part hazards. Employees that fed the winder with material were exposed to being caught by the ends of the roll's rotating shafts, and also the ingoing nip point created between the rolls; an employee sustained injuries to the arm after being caught in the nip point.
