29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for extremities, protective clothing, and protective shields and barriers, were not provided, used, or maintained wherever it was necessary by reason of chemical hazards encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation, or physical contact. On or about October 25, 2021 the employer at Dairy Farmers of America Dairy Brands Ice Cream LLC located at 4117 Fitch Street in Toledo, Ohio did not provide or maintain rubber boots or an equivalent form of personal protective equipment for building maintenance to conduct operations that include the use of handling chemical products that include corrosives including but not limited to Sodium Hydroxide, exposing employees to chemical burn injuries.
