29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1):Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). a) 3350 Schillinger Rd N, Semmes AL; On or about October 13, 2021 The employer exposed employees to cave-in hazards in that employees were allowed to work inside of a trench measuring ten feet deep, twelve feet wide, and sixty feet in length that was dug in class "b" soil. The employer had not complied with the standard in that employees were not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system and the excavation was sloped at an angle steeper than one and one-half horizontal to one vertical.
