29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) On or about 9/2/2021 and at times prior to - 3245 Fayette Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35208 Expanded Metal Process Line, at the Flattening Rollers and the Leveler Rollers, employees manually feeding expanded short width/long width openings (SWO/LWO) metal sheets to the rollers were exposed to caught-by hazards from in-rolling nip points because a machine guard that could prevent an employee's fingers from becoming caught in the openings in the expanded metal sheets and/or prevent being drawn into the rollers was not provided.
