29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in steel erection activity who is on a walking/ working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems or fall restraint systems. Site: 310 Hudson Street in New York, NY. On or about 9/14/2021, a) Employees were installing bolts to a steel beam on the 5th floor. One employee entered the opening for an elevator shaft to bolt a beam and stood on a metal screen mesh that was placed over the opening. No fall protection system was used to protect the employee from falling to lower levels.
