Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1):If at any time a powered industrial truck is found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe, the truck shall be taken out of service until it has been restored to safe operating condition. a.) At Building 5: On or about 9/16/2021 and at times prior to, employees were exposed to an unstable forklift in that the employer failed to repair the damaged tires while employees were using the forklift to load and unload pallets. b.) At Building 5: On or about 9/16/2021 and at times prior to, employees were exposed to an unsafe forklift in that the employer failed to replace defective locking pins on the forks while employees were using the forklift to load and unload pallets.
