Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.107(j)(3): Drying, curing, or fusion units utilizing a heating system having open flames or which may produce sparks were installed adjacent to a spraying area and not equipped with an interlocked ventilating system: (a) 372 KING STREET, Myerstown, PA - The employer utilized a Dyna-Glo PRO 50 Propane heater to provide a heated atmosphere for drying the buggy equipment that is painted in the shop, and the employer did not ensure that the spray area contained a safe atmosphere prior to igniting the heater, on or about, August 25, 2021. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
