Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of outdoor heat: (a) On or about July 17, 2021, and at times prior, employee(s) working during construction of outdoor tennis courts were exposed to the recognized hazard of ambient heat while working in direct sunlight during the performance of their duties. Such exposures are likely to lead to the development of serious heat-related illnesses such as, but not limited to, heat cramps, heat stress, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
