Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:

29 CFR 1926.502(a)(2):Employers shall provide and install all fall protection systems required by this subpart for an employee, and shall comply with all other pertinent requirements of this subpart before that employee begins the work that necessitates the fall protection. (A) Guardrail systems; (B) Safety net systems; or (C) Personal fall protection systems, such as personal fall arrest, travel restraint, or positioning systems. On July 15, 2021, located on building 219, and 317, employees were exposed to a fall hazard while standing on a steep pitch roof performing roofing supervisors duties not utilizing any fall protection system in that the employer failed to install a fall protection system prior to the employees performing the work. Potential fall height for Bldg. 219 was measured 13' with a roof pitch of 6 in 12. Potential fall height for Bldg. 317 was measured 12'-6" with a roof pitch of 10 in 12.
