29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about June 24, 2021, the employer failed to ensure that the Trumabend Press Brake (V85S, #313) was guarded to ensure that employees who operate the press are protected from the point of operation hazards. Employees have the option to use a foot pedal actuator vs the two hand controls which allows the employees to have their hands in or near the point of operation of the press where the tool/die comes down to bend the various metal sheets of material.
