29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes were not free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. The exit access must not go through a room that can be locked, such as a bathroom, to reach an exit or exit discharge, nor may it lead into a dead-end corridor. Stairs or a ramp must be provided where the exit route is not substantially level. On or about 06-14-2021, and times prior thereto, located at Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, 701 E Byrd Street Richmond, Virginia 23219, in the loading dock area, employee(s) were exposed to fire and entrapment hazards from a blocked emergency egress route that was not readily accessible. The area in front of the emergency exit contained two parked powered industrial tow cart/trucks. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
