This paragraph requires the employer to evaluate respiratory hazard(s) in the workplace, identify relevant workplace and user factors, and base respirator selection on these factors. The paragraph also specifies appropriately protective respirators for use in IDLH atmospheres, and limits the selection and use of air-purifying respirators. (a) The employer failed to re-evaluate respiratory hazards including the use of appropriate face coverings to minimize potential exposure to SARS-CoV-2 in the workplace as conditions changed.
