29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a.) On or about April 28, 2021, the employer did not ensure employees were protected while operating the Rod Chomper rebar bender (Serial #1889, Model RCBRE-11-DC-MD 3-2003). An employees finger was pinched between an open pin hole and the back stop while the table was rotating to complete a bend. Additionally, employees are exposed to a pinch point created from the bending rebar and stationary pin.
