29 CFR 1910.29(b)(3):29 CFR 1910.29(b)(3): The employer did not ensure that guardrail systems are capable of withstanding, without failure, a force of at least 200 pounds (890 N) applied in a downward or outward direction within 2 inches (5 cm) of the top edge, at any point along the top rail. a) Warehouse Area (Mezzanine Area Gate/Guardrail System - A): On or about April 19, 2021, and at times prior, the employer failed to ensure that guardrail systems were capable of withstanding, without failure, a force of at least 200 pounds(890 N) applied in a downward or outward direction within 2 inches (5 cm) of the top edge, at any point along the top rail; exposing employees to fall hazards up to nine feet (9') to the concrete floor below.
