29 CFR 1910.27(a): The employer did not ensure that scaffolds used in general industry meet the requirements in 29 CFR part 1926, subpart L) In the alternative 1926.451(e)(8): Direct access to or from another surface shall be used only when the scaffold is not more than 14 inches (36 cm) horizontally and not more than 24 inches (61 cm) vertically from the other surface. a. 100 Raskulinecz Rd., Carteret, NJ The employer did not ensure that employees accessing a mobile scaffold were less than 24 inches vertically from the other surface. An employee engaged in maintenance activities used a scissor lift to access the roof which was more than 24 inches from the roof line to which the employee climbed the guardrails as a means of access.
